Ashford and Kent Small Pet's Hotel is a family run boarding establishment catering to the needs of holiday-making families and their beloved pets.  We focus primarily on quality and customer service, and specialise in the boarding of rabbits, guinea pigs and other small pets only.

When you leave your pet with us, our primary concern is in giving you peace of mind and assurance that your pet is well cared for in a comfortable and safe environment.

Rabbits & Guinea Pigs

​

Our rabbit & guinea pig accommodations offer double-sized hutches with a run, in either our indoor pet room or bespoke rabbit/guinea pig outdoor shelter. Our 'out-of-house' purpose built shelter is perfectly naturally ventilated and airy on the hot days, and cosy and heated in the winter months. Your pet will also enjoy 'time out of hutch' quality daily play sessions (if you wish) in a separate run space both inside the pet room/bespoke shelter or outside on grass.

Fresh filtered water is provided at all times, and we supply the best beddings - Aubiose & Megazorb. Aubiose, consisting of a natural 100% hemp wood shaving, is dust free for our furry friends bedding..  In addition it has natural fly repellent qualities, making it ideal for your rabbit or guinea pig.  Megazorb, consisting of a 100% natural virgin wood pulp fibre, is a highly absorbent and cosy bedding material for your pet.

We request that you supply your own feeds, but we offer hay/bedding and fresh vegetables on a daily basis (if you wish).  Please bring any toys they might enjoy, to make them feel at home during their stay with us.

We also request that you bring your rabbit's veterinary record card as proof of vaccinations against Myxomatosis, RVHD and the new strain of RVHD2 (Viral Haemorrhagic Disease) - which can potentially cause intense suffering for rabbits. We don't board any rabbits without first seeing and taking a copy of the record card. This is standard practice under veterinary advice, in order to protect your pets, our other customer's pets, and also our own pets.

Small Pets

​

Please bring your smaller pets (gerbils, hamsters, mice, rats, chinchillas & degus) in their own cages.  They will be changed with with Carefresh bedding - very absorbent for toileting, and also very cosy for sleeping. This is the best quality bedding - exactly the same as we use for our own pets.

Fresh filtered water is provided at all times, and we request that you supply your own feeds.

Ashford & Kent Small Pet's Hotel operate under a business liability insurance plan, and we ask that you complete our 'pet's stay form' and adhere to, and sign, our terms and conditions - which form the basis of our contract with you.

​

In the unlikely case of pet illness during their stay, we work with you to provide the necessary care your pet requires with our local vet.  All treatment must be authorised and paid for by our clients prior to its commencement.

​

We request a booking fee deposit of 20% for all pets, refundable on any cancellation received within a minimum of 2 week's notice of the commencement of your pet's stay with us. 

​
